Random January

While playing doctor one night this month, Annabelle turns to me and says: Okay, Mom, your blood is 50 miles, so you're not dead.

Thanks for clearing that up, Dr. Bellie.

One of Jared's favorite Christmas present has to be his K'nex Dinosaurs.  The kid will spend HOURS meticulously building one of TWENTY different dinosaurs in the kit.  He's mostly gotten rid of his nap since Luke moved up into their room and building his dinosaurs is his favorite Quiet Time Activity.  This is after he and I built a dinosaur together.

Luke's newest face--- sticking his tongue out.  He also like to blow raspberries now (and we have a video).

This is the kids watching Wizard of Oz for the first time.  Annabelle would not stop asking me about Dorothy, her traveling companion, and their motivation.  It was annoying (because she wouldn't stop) and cute (because she was so concerned) at the same time.  Maybe that's a little bit of me in here....

Another nap time this month, Jared and I made all of these 'Sushi Treats' for the Relief Society activity this month.  Ironically, we forgot to save a few for the family and they went so fast at the activity, I didn't even get one.

Jared and his two closest buddies, Alex & Caleb.  If I remember correctly, they're watching Shaun the Sheep.

This is when Luke grabbed for a toy for the first time.  Milestone, woot!

Annabelle and I were cuddling one night in the chair and she drew a picture of she and I cuddling on the magnadoodle.  So flipping cute.

At the end of last month, Greg was called to be the Ward Executive Secretary.  I had a feeling something like this was coming because recently I had been feeling oddly grateful to have him while we get ready for church.  Not any more.  Church is now at nine, so he has meetings beforehand and the first time they see him on Sundays is at church.  He usually just 15-20 minutes behind us in leaving, so not too bad right now.

Right now, I'm in the middle of competing on {So You Think You're Crafty}.  Here's my permanent {profile page}.  It's been fun, exciting, stressful and constant.  I had a close scare this week, I almost got eliminated.  My goal is to get top three--- I guess we'll see.  If not, oh well, it was still fun.

One day after preschool, Jared was really proud of his HUGE green snowflake he made and he "wanted me to take a picture so he'd remember it when it was ruined by Annabelle or Luke."  Direct quote, I kid you not.

Jared and Bellie had their first Banana Splits on Monday as an impromptu FHE treat.  It was just going to be frozen yogurt THEN I remembered we had whipped cream THEN I remembered the Bananas THEN I remember the Chocolate Syrup.  Yep, I think I earned 'World's Awesomest Mom' that night.

Lastly,  one night, I caught this:

Luke is already starting Jedi training with Yoda.  I guess the force is strong with this one. ;)

Friday Video: Hallway Chasing

I know it's been a while since I've done Friday video, but I couldn't pass this up.  One of the kids' favorite things to do with Greg right now is run up and down the hallway.  It can get pretty loud with all of the tile in our house, but the kids (and Greg) sure do have fun.

And since Luke doesn't make an appearance in the video, here are some cute baby shots:

Sunny Church Field Playdate

The weather got a little bit warmer again, so we were invited to go to the church field for a lunch date.

We brought the kids' new t-ball set and lunch.  Each kiddo had a turn with the bat--- we just had to make sure the others weren't standing in the swinging zone with each swing.

Our friends brought a scavenger hunt and Jared was really into it.  He tried his best to find everything and had huge reactions to when he found something and when he couldn't.

The kids also spent a lot of time in the corner of the lot in a rock pile.  When the moms finally walked out there to see what they were doing, they proclaimed proudly that they built an ant motel tower for all of the little ants to live in.  Hilarious.

It was really hard to get the kids to go home, so mission accomplished on a great outing.  Hopefully, we'll be able to do it again soon.

Luke's First: Solids

Luke had his first solids this week.  And, just like his brother and sister, he was not very impressed with the cereal/milk combination.

However, we kept trying once-a-day and then introduced a new player called applesauce to the game.  He was enamored with it.  So much so that we got a video of his (and for your) enjoyment.

Luke's adventures into food seem to be a family event.  Jared and Annabelle are both very keen on helping which is adorable, wonderful and also--- a little bit of a pain.  However, if they want to help, we're more than happy letting them.  I know I say this almost every time, but I can't believe he's already at this stage; they grow so fast and I want to slow time down so I can savor each one of these memories for when they're grown.

Park Day

One of the best things about living here is being able to enjoy the weather in the winter (mostly because we have to hibernate from the blistering heat in the summer).  Lately, though, it's been too chilly to be outside, so this morning when our friends invited us to a local park to enjoy the 'warm spell'--- we were off.

We all had a great time.  Annabelle's favorite part of this part had to be the SWINGS.  This girl would swing all day every day, if she was able.  Luke even had his first go, but didn't last long and went right back on me to relax and swing while resting in the carrier.

Jared really like the telephone tubes at the park.  One of the first things he said to me, besides 'hi mommy', was 'Luke, I am your father'.  What have we created?

When we left, Jared and Belle kept asking me when we'd come back again and if we could bring Dad.  It was really cute and I'm glad we found a closer park to break from the normal of our park. :)

Bat Baby

Just before Halloween, I went to a Consignment sale with the girls.  We go every six months and I get amazing deals on lots of different things.  I think Greg is secretly afraid of what I may come home with.

At the sale, I found this ADORABLE baby romper PERFECT for Halloween.  Perfect, everywhere, except Texas, when it's still 80+ degrees outside.  Plus, I had to make Luke's first Halloween costume anyway.

I still got the jumper and it's finally cold enough for him to wear it.  Here he is...

Seriously, how cute is he?!  I added the ears and the cape with a little bit of my extra felt.  It's hard not to run him around the house humming the Batman theme.

Plus, since I'm a Nerd Mom like that, I simply had to have a picture with all of my kids, including Bat-Baby.

Being a baby and a superhero is tiring work.

He should know because he's Bat-Baby!

The Wake Up Team

Jared and Annabelle love to wake up Luke from his naps.  It's actually rather funny, so I had to document it.

They go in and proclaim, "good morning/nap, Luke/Lukie"

Then they climb onto the crib...

and smile at him...

until he smiles back and coos for me to get him.

Annabelle told me the other day, "I LOVE waking up Lukie, it's so much fun!"

I'm so glad they enjoy each other.  I'll try to remember these moments for the moments when I want to pull my hair out in the future.

Annabelle is a sunBEAM!

Our little Annabellie-button had her first day of Sunbeams yesterday!

I can't believe how old she is.  She told us all about songs, activities and her new teacher.  I think she's going to like it.

Here's proof that I ACTUALLY did her hair that morning.  (SUPER LOVE this picture).

She just took her headband off before Primary.  That girl is sure a firecracker!

Annabelle's First: Stomach Flu

Poor little Annabelle has spent the first few days of the year sick.  When it first started, she couldn't keep anything down; yesterday, she was able to at least keep some applesauce down, so hopefully we'll try some better food today.  She got to break in one of Luke's Christmas presents, reusable pouches for homemade baby food!

Most of the days have been spent making her stay still on the couch while staying entertained--- this means A LOT of princess movies.  Jared isn't too keen on princess movies, so he's been using his new Tag reader to keep himself busy (and of, course, bug Luke as much as possible).

Happy New Year: Italian Style

Our friends had their annual "early NYE in a different country" party and this year we celebrated Italian-style.  It was a lot of fun. In honor of the holiday most famous for a countdown, I present to the blogosphere...

Top Ten Memories of New Year's Eve 2012:

10. Mustaches & Beards--- EVERYWHERE!

9. Accent Contest... Jessica and I had some fun with this. :)

8. Yummy Italian Food like pizza, Caesar salad, cheese, meat, grapes, homemade biscotti and 'gelato' sundae bar... I think, they liked it.

7. Italian Tradition of Throwing old pots & pans out the window--- kids thought it was hilarious!

6. Luke & Briana cuddling for their first New Year's party

5. Airplane Building Contest (you know, 'cause Da Vinci built contraptions--- hmmm... one of the contestants is kind of hairy)

4. Newspaper Sculpture Building Contest.  We weren't the most creative, but we were certainly the tallest!

3. Photos in Italy... or least an awesome backdrop which makes it FEEL like Italy.

2. Fireworks! Greg brought home his noise-cancelling headphones and Annabelle was brave enough to come outside and watch this year. Jared got as far as the garage--- we're getting him closer!

1. The Great Balloon Drop & subsequent balloon madness which is always fantastic!  Greg even got involved this year.

Here's the actual countdown in video:

The NYE party has got to be one of the best traditions that we do! Happy 2013!
