Quick Update

AMBO:  So so SO DONE being pregnant.  My 'To-Do Before Baby Comes' List is nearly complete, which is an accomplishment itself because I'm always just so tired.  I know it comes with the territory and I'll be forever grateful that we were able to get pregnant again... I'm just done.  Tomorrow is how far along I was when I had Annabelle, so here's hoping.

GWEG:  On the 18th, Greg took a day off work to help one of his former scouts with his Eagle project.  Normal back-breaking Eagle project labor that he can usually handle.  Well, when he got home, he was exhausted.  To the point, we almost didn't go to the temple.  Almost; we knew it'd be our last time for a while, so off we went.  When we got home, Greg had a fever.  Not just a simple low-grade one either; a 'whoa, he's sick' fever.  The weekend went by (I went to church by myself with the kids) and he was still sick, so he went to the doctor on Monday.  First thing she said was: Mono, but we won't know for a few days.  I thought that was so strange; I knew the same afternoon when I got it as a teen.  Greg spent the whole next week and part of this week home with us.  He's doing mostly better and we're both super grateful Baby L didn't make his appearance before I was full-term.

JARED:  Since the weather has cooled down we've been going on more walks.  The problem with going on walks is when we go: at dusk.  On our first walk, we forgot to spray Jared.  In the middle of bed time routine, he mentioned how itchy he was--- he had FIVE bites.  Since then, we remember to spray him--- except for this last time and he got a bite on his foot.  When Jared gets bites on the outer part of his extremeties there is usually swelling involved.  The bite on his foot got so bad, Greg had to take him to urgent care.  While there, they reviewed how to take care of his foot, stuff we haven't heard before.  However, it seems after this round of "Jared the Bug Buffet," we have a system.  A system that involves Calomine Lotion, Kiddo Benadryl and lots of cuddles.

ANNABELLE:  She is the sassiest little two-year-old you will EVER meet.  I'm SO hoping her teenage year aren't as sassy and that she and I have a good relationship... tangent... anyway... Part of the reason why she is so sassy is because she is so smart.  She knows I have to go to the hospital to have the baby and constantly tells me with what she is going to help with when he's born.  My hope is that she'll still like him...

BABY L:  Full-term, active and ready to come out.

Annabelle's First: Dentist Trip

Yesterday we took Annabelle to the Dentist for the first time and she did a great job.  She and Jared both had their teeth cleaned.  They sat so nicely together in the chair (mostly because I think they were both a bit unsure).
The patients

Gayle, our Hygienist, was fantastic with them.  She made sure they knew exactly what she was doing, when she was doing it.  She was kind, understanding and didn't mind when they wiggled a little.  She even let them explore the Dentist tools.
ooo... a mirror stick
Jared was the first one up and showed Annabelle just how it was done.  He sat nicely and pulled out the "Shy Jared" routine, so Gayle was able to finish him quickly.

Annabelle wanted to watch what she was doing the whole time, so it took convincing to get her to look at the ceiling.  Once she saw the magic of the Dentist Ceiling TV, we had a hard time getting her to look back down.  Gayle was so efficient with the kids that it took them longer to pick out their toothbrushes and 'treasure toy.'
She's not as concerned as she looks....

Here they are showing off their newly cleaned teeth.... or looking at the Ceiling TV.

I sure hope they're this good in six months. :)

36 Weeks: Sneak Peak

Similar to my pregnancy with Annabelle, I measured somewhat small on my last visit, so I had to go into the doctor a couple days ago (our anniversary) to check on baby L.  Greg even came with me.  We were going to make an anniversary date out of it, but we think he has Mono (tests are still out), so we just went to the appointment.

L looked just fine to us and to the doctor.  He's measuring normal, except for his head--- it's slightly larger (really hoping that's off).  In the pictures, his hand is covering most of his face; he didn't really want to be bothered.

What's most exciting is that we're coming up on the home stretch.  In just a few short weeks, we'll be holding baby L.  Even the kids are getting anxious; one of them asks daily if he's coming out that day.  Soon...

Ward Talent Show: Sunday School

Remember how I mentioned in our anniversary post that we were spending the evening in the most romantic way possible... at our Ward Talent Show?  Greg works with the youth, I knew we needed to go and support--- and not use our anniversary as an excuse out.  So, a few weeks ago, I figured if we're going to go the talent show, we might as well DO something for it.

Driving home from one of my doctor appointments, the idea came to me:  BYU Divine Comedy's sketch about Sunday School.  I knew I could get it on YouTube, the challenge would be convincing our close friends (i.e. practically family) to do it with us.  Turns out... they were all excited to do it!  So, I went to work transcribing and reworking the script to fit six adults and more-modern times.

We then spent the next 3 FHEs rehearsing our lines and crossing our fingers that Baby L would not make his appearance before that night.  All of our rehearsing paid off.  We were actually the only adult group to do anything and it was so much fun.  Afterwards, we got some complements; we even had the Sunday School teacher joking come up to us and say, "hey, now what are you trying to say about my lessons?!?"  I'm so grateful we have incredible friends who are willing to go along with some of my crazy ideas.

Enjoy!  (Yep, that's our group of kids repeating the lines because they've heard them multiple times).

Eight is Great!

We've been married for EIGHT. YEARS. TODAY.  Weird.

To celebrate, we're going to my next doctor's appointment together to take a look at Baby L and discuss his eviction process from my body.  Then, we're going on a lunch date because we have a Ward Talent Show tonight (in which we are participating in).  Woo hoo.  Romantic, no?  If you're not jealous, you should be. ;)

Where did the time go?  Weren't we just young twenty-something BYU students slipping in the snow and then spending WAY too much time laying out in the summer not doing our homework but still passing all our classes?  Now, all of the sudden we're pushing (or hitting) the thirties with (mostly) three kids, a mini-van and a morgage.

It's been one crazy fantastic ride.  On this day, eight years ago, I didn't think I could love Greg more.  I was so wrong. (He's say the same thing too).  It's sappy, but true... I am ridiculously in love with my husband and I don't care who knows it.

Yay for 8 years!  Here's to the next eight... and the next eight... and the next eight...

***Yes, I know I haven't blogged in a LONG time.  I have a few things to blog about (20 posts to be exact).  I'm going to get to them, I might not get to them before Baby L is born, but typing on the computer and loading pictures will be a good thing to get me back in the swing of things... right?***

A Little 'Sprinkle'

On Saturday, my friends were so sweet and threw me a little Baby Sprinkle.  Since it's my 3rd baby and 2nd boy, I don't really need anything.  I just wanted to get together for some good food and chatting time.  It was perfect.  We had meat and chocolate there (per request of the pregnant cravings), everyone ended up bringing something new for Baby L to call his own (so sweet) and we had a great time together.

After the sprinkle, three of us went out for pedicures.  It's a semi-tradition for me to do this at the end of my pregancies.  I like to have pretty toes to stare at when I'm laboring and recovering.  I got one with Jared and missed it with Annabelle because I thought I had two more weeks.  I didn't want to push it this time, just in case he's a little early like Bellie, so I got them done a few weeks early.  It felt so so nice to get my feet worked on and, strangely enough, I feel just a little bit more ready for Baby L to come.  Woot.

FYI:  I look tired because my Braxton Hicks kept waking me up the night before.  This is the part of pregnancy that's really hard on me.  I have usually easy beginnings and middles, but the ending is littered with contractions and uncomfortableness.  It's worth it though, to hold my cute little boy in the end.

Our Olympians

Like the rest of the world, we have been captivated by the Olympics.  I love the unpredictable moments of greatness.  So fantastic!  I'm already losing sleep staying up to watch some of the events, and Baby L still has about a month until he makes his appearance.

Anyway, the kids have also enjoyed watching the Olympics.  When swimming was on last week, they pretended to swim.  This week, they took to Track 'n Field and I took a video (they are doing the hurdles):

Annabelle's First: Haircut

A couple days ago I finally gave in... Annabelle got her first REAL haircut.  It's probably best since she is a few months away from turning 3.  Before Saturday, her hair cuts were just little trims, mostly to get her bangs out of her face.  Lately, we haven't even worried about those because Annabelle is growing her bangs out (she's only two and has a VERY strong opinion on how her hair looks).

Since she's my first girl I was waiting to see if her hair would thicken up or change a little; the only thing that's changed is it's length.  It was finally getting long enough (i.e. TOO much like a mullet) that we had a nice girl outing to get it fixed.
Before

During--- watching Care Bears

After
She did fantastic in the chair.  She spent the time watching Care Bears, driving her car to see Daddy, and telling me which animals were on her cover.  The girl cutting her hair started the last one up because Annabelle wouldn't keep her head down.

Afterwards, she told anyone who would listen that she got her haircut.  Two days later, she randomly came up to Greg and said, "Daddy, I got my hair cut."

34 Weeks

31 weeks... on my birthday
How far along: 34 weeks
Weight Gain this month, Total Weight Gain, Current Weight:  5 lbs, 26lbs, 157lbs
Approximate Size of Baby: approx. 4 3/4 lbs, 18 inches, 'average' cantaloupe
Sleep:  Hard to fall asleep.  Usually waking up to adjust, eat or pee.  Definitely feeling like the end is near.
Memorable Moments:  While waiting to help Krystal in the temple, the temple escort asked me if I was due any day now.  I told her I still had a couple months to go and she said "wow, that baby is low."  Tell me about it. *** Annabelle came up to my belly the other day and told Baby L that she loved him.  "I love my baby" is technically what she said.
Movement:  He's so large in affects EVERYTHING when he moves.
Exercise:  Not much at all... hip still hurts.  Swimming is the only thing that helps.
Food Cravings/Aversions:  Not so much into any food right now because it give me heartburn.  Chocolate and burgers still seem to be the favorite go-to food.
Not-so-Fun Symptoms:  Feeling large *** Having people tell me I look too small for how far along I am *** the heat of the summer *** bending over *** BH contractions
Labor Signs: Still occasional, but they are there.
What I Miss:  Having my body to myself.  ***  Walking without pain
What I'm looking forward to:  My friends are throwing me a baby 'sprinkle'  just a girl get-to-together with friends and chatting... then we're going to get pedicures... just what my feet need.
Anything Else:  I think I'm starting to nest because I've been making things for Baby L like CRAZY.  I've stenciled some shirts, made newborn gowns and a new diaper holder.  Extra crafting is how I nest.***Sonogram in two weeks at my next appointment.  We'll also talk about finishing up this pregnancy.... I can't believe we're near the end!
